Clintons Creative Corner

“Blessed are the weird people:
poets, misfits, writers
mystics, painters, troubadours
for they teach us to see the world through different eyes.”
― Jacob Nordby

Back again for another installment of Clintons Creative Corner featuring Grinder!

Grinder is a Decepticon that can transform into a big jet and he can also turn into a very big truck. Grinder weighs in at 97 tons and is an astonishing 84 feet tall! Grinder can also turn his metal heels into wheels that slide. Grinder has an arsenal of weapons including a a grappling arm and a gun arm. There are also small blasters on his shoulders and to top it off he is invincible to lava! He takes great pleasure in battling Optimus Prime and trying his best to defeat him. He is blue, red and green! He is lightening fast!

During this challenging and uncertain time it would be so easy to simply focus on academics for our children and forget completely about the importance and benefits of being creative. I feel as people right now we are exhausted and believe we just do not have any energy to be creative or that it holds no benefit to use right now and that just is not true. There is no question that right now is an exhausting, overwhelming and an extremely taxing time in history and there. There is so much pressure on all of us, and whether your a parent or not there just doesn’t seem to be any relief in site. I would like to take a quick moment to say creativity does not just mean drawing, painting or even building – it could be writing, gardening, dancing, cooking, coloring, playing video games, redecorating, sewing, knitting, singing, playing board games, or even creating a podcast. The best part of this is that you usually feel energized after creating something! It brightens your mood and right now we could all use a little bit of that.

Creativity is also important at so many levels of our society, including both the individual and the social levels. For example, at the individual level creativity is relevant to solving real life problems. At the social level, creative individuals pioneer progress in science and technology and the beauty in arts. Creativity also brings about a feeling of satisfaction. The best thing about satisfaction brought about by creativity is that it knows no age or what stage of life you are in. Creativity reassures you that whatever situation you are going through, that the world is yours to explore.

  1. A very positive upbeat post. I agree with you wholeheartedly. In the uncertainty we current reside in, focusing on our creativity and expressing ourselves through whatever creative channel we possess is a way to keep ourselves grounded. It does provide a sense of satisfaction…and yes, the world is still ours to explore through imagination a d creativity. Clinton amazes me with his imagination and ability to create these super heroes and villains complete with stories! Looking forward to see you both again…maybe after this heat finally breaks!
